@PeepMySlashLine @EricCrossMLB Can he do this over 600 PA? Look at the qualifiers year after year who hit over .300. You have Arraez and then like ~8 others who have legit pop. It's extremely hard to do and I'm skeptical his half season = the norm. We'll see how he adjusts at his first sign of trouble.

@EricCrossMLB I don't dislike him, it's just really aggressive. Even someone like Turang with better contact rates and speed couldn't get near .300 against RHP.

@Davey_Baseball @TheBlogfines It's hard to envision it being worth the difference in the two contracts though. Like it has to be a massive haul for Nico

@RunningFlannel Bregman has to be the most egregious listed height vs real life height offender in the sport

The argument for spending ~$18M and draft picks to "upgrade" the offense from Nico to Bregman is that this is supposedly a huge offensive upgrade. The point of the tweet is to counter that to show he isn't all that successful away from HOU, and dropping him into a ballpark that suppresses RHH offense isn't a good fit

@AaronWilder_ @dwest___ Sure that's better. You obviously wouldn't use career splits to pay any of these 30 year olds big contracts. There's still a lot of red flags whether you want to use last two years or last three

@dwest___ @AaronWilder_ Without trading Nico it's a better gamble I suppose. But like, is a reduced version the best use of $30M? Better than any available player(s) and potential big deadline deals that you might now be boxed out of financially?
