Looks like Aspyr have done a nice job with this remaster. Meanwhile I'm wondering if 28 years is long enough that I'd be able to play my own games for fun!.

*LOVE* the fact that @AspyrMedia collaborated with members of the TR community to make the Remaster! So now @XProger_san and the others have seen the code and know Winston's true personality.

@gone_witch I helped create the game which isn't the same as playing it. Like an author reading their own book.

@JackMills360 Ha, we were a close knit team and were told without warning that some American dude was going to make an expansion to our game about a day before he arrived. So we were like WTF, and were initially less friendly than our normal selves, but we eventually helped him out 🙂.

@PrivateEyeNews @IanDunt Feel for Carrie. It's not easy dealing with a newborn when you've already got a big toddler to look after.

@stellalune Yeah, nuts right? Even worse, the level I needed to look things up more than once was the Cistern which I worked on the design the most to help Heather figure out the convoluted logic of that up/down water puzzling!.

@gone_witch Didn't work on the Remaster, I was a programmer on the original TR team. But turns out 27+ years is long enough to forget so much I can play the game for fun.

@itvnews @jeremycorbyn Except our cleaner was stopped by police and told he's not an "essential worker" and to go home. We've offered to continue paying him, but he's lost most of his other clients. How's he supposed to survive with no income? Self-employed need support.

@juniordrblog I have 3 grandparents in their 90s and they are all ardent Remainers who think Brexit is a disgrace.

@mikegalsworthy They told Leavers they'd "get Brexit done" on the 31st, so they now need to pretend it was done. They clearly think people are dumb enough to believe it too. Sadly they may be right.

@LKTranslator Actually if we'd done that, Labour wouldn't have been in power and a Tory government would have taken us into Iraq anyway. And the US was going in with or without us and they certainly wouldn't have listened to Corbyn.

@Femi_Sorry Cameron started this mess with a referendum to do something he then campaigned against whilst allowing his MPs to support whichever side they wanted, so what does it matter which side Corbyn is on?.

@rafaelbehr Nice piece. The reality is that our country is tearing itself apart arguing over something that is essentially about as interesting as Inland Revenue reform, whilst pretending it is some kind of Holy Grail.

@jombibo @mostlypeeved @Baddiel > we shouldn’t have a referendum.> leaving is a terrible idea.> we’ll get a rubbish withdrawal agreement.> we’ll get shafted in trade negotiations <- we are here.> if we rejoin it will be on worse conditions than before.

@NeoRetroDiaries I honestly don't recall there ever being a Jaguar version worked on, but Paul @cnhyv has a better memory of this stuff than me!.

@MikeH_PR The problem is that one side knows that you can lie without consequences to ill-informed members of the public to get their vote. And once in power you can then do whatever you like until the next election, when you lie again. Helps to have the mainstream media on board.

@NeoRetroDiaries @cnhyv Lara was only ever a dude when Toby first pitched his idea to Jeremy (head of Core) at his interview AFAIK. Jeremy told him it was too like Indy, so he went off and came up with Lara to be as different as possible. For the rest of us, TR always had Lara.

@ChroofSayer @campbellclaret @BorisJohnson We'll be going back to Victorian times under the Tories, so I'll take 50 years over 150.

@cswheatley @williamnhutton You don't HAVE to do something stupid just because you voted for it. You CAN change your mind when you can see something is going to be rubbish. Brexit is a Tory con - it was all lies - and we don't need to suffer 25 years to work that out.

@mikegalsworthy Very interesting point about more testing allowing individuals to know if they've had it or not. We need the "herd" to grow so they can help others without fear of spreading it.

@rthonbwooster @williamnhutton @aboutpower Propaganda stunt. There were hundreds of thousands of people not that tiny crowd. Set up for the cameras to fool the gullible.

@mrjamesob Brexit is all based on lies because the hard right don’t dare tell the public their true plans for the country.

@Peston @CMO_England Why do we just ignore the lessons from South Korea? The whole of the West seems to have looked at the graph and decided to copy Italy.

@JohnJCrace UK businesses have spent the last few years creating Brexit plans that involve winding down their UK operations and moving abroad.

@adventurer_2015 Sorry, that doesn't ring any bells for me! I'm guessing you were one of the lads - or were you chasing them down and want to know where they went?😀.

I only really started using Twitter a few months back and then exclusively to follow current affairs, but it allowed me to reconnect with Paul after about 20 years. Good to see him posting about the old TR days and correcting some of the myths I see repeated over and over.
A few things. Only "Croft" came from the phonebook. Therefore, no "real Lara Croft" out there somewhere. The mansion wasn't based on Core Design's offices - it was an analgam of images of Georgian manor houses from a reference book. (1/x).

@campbellclaret The problem is that they don't have a coherent strategy. "Herd immunity/protect vulnerable" made sense, but they had to actually *do* stuff to make it work e.g. actually protect the vulnerable, and test to control the spread.

@DarkRedshift @ash_kaprielov Sorry no, that was before my time. I have no idea who owns what IPs at this point, but at a guess, probably Rebellion. But I doubt anyone would care less about anyone streaming it anyway.

@DavidHenigUK @ECIPE The scary bit is neither Johnson or Cummings really care about Brexit - it was just a means to an end. In fact Cummings appears to think that now is the perfect time to massively restructure the Whitehall - they're not going to be busy after all.

@rthonbwooster @williamnhutton @aboutpower No I’m saying Mogg chose to walk home through.a massive demonstration with a huge police escort knowing it would provoke a reaction that the media would report. If the demonstration had been ugly he would have never risked it.

@SparkyRandomz Someone with the resources to do it licensing the IP from whoever currently owns it (Square? Embracer?).

@davidallengreen Apparently the original plan was a piss up in a brewery but that was too difficult to organise. .

@carljackmiller Yes we need to move to consensus building politics rather than confrontational win/lose style. I also think Sortition (election by random selection rather than voting) has a lot to recommend it too. Our political system attracts the wrong type of people for running a country.

@Andrew_Adonis Given South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong have way better control than us WITHOUT nationwide lockdowns, it suggests we could be a lot more intelligent in our approach than "hiding under the bed" because nothing in the graphs is suggesting this is an effective strategy.

@DavidHenigUK The scary truth is that the Brexiters clearly don't have a plan or even a vision for what happens next. For most of them it was just a way to get into power, and now they'd like it to go away.

@WLeave2016 @Michael_Portzed @pmdfoster @davidallengreen No "leaving the EU" means leaving the EU. We didn't have a referendum on leaving any of those other things. And Norway and Switzerland are just fine being out of the EU and in the SM.

@abelliqueux @cnhyv Yes it is the same effect. Andrew Howe (or "Dude" as we all called him) worked on TR2 too, so he just applied it to a few more places.

@pmdfoster A massive issue in all this is that 500k people die in the UK every year normally. And as this mainly hits the old and frail, it is very likely there is a large overlap between people who will die of Covid and people who would have died anyway.
