@MichaelRyanJett I’ll have to go back and watch. I didn’t tune in until halftime. I’m surprised by the anger this tweet is getting. Ford could’ve been referencing, literally, any of at least 5-10 people. That the rage is coming from one group makes it seem they don’t think their leader is humble.

@CutThruTheBias Do you have Apple Music? They have a good playlist on his “road” to the halftime show. There’s a lot culturally to unpack. If you’re on Instagram, go to the NAACP’s page and read the comments—a lot of people have done good analyses of the symbolism.

@VTHistory25 Someone corrected me and said it was “heroes.” I apologize for that. I see heroes as leaders, and admittedly typed this as I was on an elliptical trainer reading closed captioning of the game.

@Aguirre_A_Luis Totally. Curious, though, if there’s another way the Broncos could’ve built around these men. They’re clearly good at what they do and it’s sad we lost their full potential.

@andrewg_nft Your language to me—a stranger—signals you’re neither a hero nor a leader if humility is the measuring stick. Good day.

@dspoley If you tap into the song selection and the messages, it was a generational performance.

@SethRaymanHVA Brutal times for the Broncos indeed. But if there’s someone I’d never bet against, it’s Patrick Mahomes. Should be an interesting half.
