Consultative meeting on Regulatory Systems support for Agricultural Biotechnology in Africa hosted by the NBA in partnership with the AUDA-NEPAD, USDA-Economic Research Service, MSU and Oklahoma State University. Held in Lusaka, Zambia, from 19th-20th September 2024.

I will be discussing regional and international level interventions on biosafety. The essence of the meeting is to review the challenges affecting Biosafety in Africa, particularly Zambia, to foster food security through the adoption of safe biotechnology.

Scientists in Nigeria have been reprimanded to steer clear of unethical tendencies, especially on the application of biotechnology for the development of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in the country.
