Katie Ledecky, in her Olympic debut in 2012 at age 15, won the 800m freestyle and broke Janet Evans' American record from 1989. In the last 11 1/2 years, Ledecky recorded the TOP 50+ times in U.S. history (adding another today), with Evans still the second-fastest American ever.
