@drugmonkeyblog @sciencejuls Fair enough. They should be happy with a quick response like "my research program is active and while I don't know about next year in particular, I do plan to continue taking students in general." If they want more than that, I agree they're being presumptuous.

@sciencejuls @drugmonkeyblog I guess I am not sure what the harm is. That you're getting too many emails? But these are emails from aspiring scientists who admire your research and are expressing interest in working for you. Aren't those the kinds of emails you want? Seems like a good omen to me.

@LammerdingLab @abbybuch @J_Cell_Sci @VolkswagenSt @NSF @nih_nhlbi @NIGMS A huge swath of the protein from the NLS to the C' Ig-like domain is annotated as "disordered" on Uniprot. It really makes me wonder whether there is somewhere along that part of the protein that would accommodate a tag
