When I lived in the mid west there was a phenomenon where if a kid at school committed suicide, their friends work follow, then it would ripple out to other schools. It’s mass hysteria without real logic and difficult to contain once it starts. The stuff of nightmares.

You fail to mention the $600+m given per to Hamas to build infrastructure so that Gaza can be independent, that water pipes are made into rockets (they’re not running out of those), that officials spend it on luxury living in Qatar and Turkey, and keep Gaza in squalor.
