I'm very lucky to have a job that involves close encounters with wildlife, including handling animals, & to sometimes be able to share this. Importantly, this work is done by trained staff with the required permits + following procedures to ensure animal welfare is maintained. 👇

As with all the footage I post from work: animals are handled by or under the supervision of trained staff for monitoring/research purposes, with the required permits & animal ethics approvals in place. Handling is kept to the minimum required to collect monitoring data.

They don't call them Red-tailed Phascogales for nothing ♥️ (handled by trained animal handlers part of a monitoring survey with the appropriate animal ethics permits)

This week at Mt Gibson we're conducting a trapping survey to check in on the reintroduced Red-tailed Phascogale population. Here's on taking in its surroundings after being released back into the wild 😊.

Was going to just let this slide but then realised the account is full of far-right pro-Trump garbage so managed to get it taken down. Rare twitter W.
