Do you own an Army surplus M1 Garand? Is the serial number 283898? You Could be 'All Shook Up' and setting on a million dollars. Somewhere out there is Elvis Presley's issued M1 Garand.

Zelený Sport Defence in the Czech Republic just posted these images from their recent warehouse move. A bunch of M1928 and M1 Thompson subguns, from 80 years of arsenal storage. The only legal way these could ever come back home is in torched condition as parts.

The CMP recently received significant quantities of surplus ammunition, and it appears to be American-made Lake City stuff from the 1960s, at least according to the crate stamps. .30 carbine, M2 ball, and .22LR, etc.

Interesting news out of the CMP recently, they have set aside some surplus ammo to sell in FY 24, some M1917 Enfields are coming up, some 5,000 M1 Garands have recently come in as returns from the Turkish military, and 10,000 M1911s from the Army have been received.

Restoring old guns, to me at least, is therapy. Learning their history, design etc is relaxing. Being retired after 35+ years of smithin' and not having the pressures and time limits of running a gunsmith shop brings back the joys of the hobby.

Here's one of mine I don't post often. My Iraqi Tariq in 7.65mm. Given to me for a job well done by the 3rd SFG. Bring back paper and one mag came with it. The emblem on the pistol grip is a tribute to "Tariq Ibn Ziyad" who was the leader of Iraq and invaded Spain in 711.

Only 12 prototypes and just over 100 production models were ever made of the Pieper Actionless 47. It's a combination of the patent of French Madame Lombert, the money of a Brussels engineer, Nicolas Pirard and the technical knowledge of Maurice Tono-Lambert.

The Japanese Type 26 revolver is an amalgamation of design features from other revolvers made during the time period. The revolver has a design flaw in that the cylinder freewheels when not engaged, so during movement, such as in combat, it may rotate to an already fired chamber.
