The more I watch schoolboy football the more I realise how lucky my generation were. Street football was our Lives, every day, every hour possible on a road, dodgy ball, 1v1 5v5 20v20 .. I haven’t seen a group of boys playing on a road in ten years .. what chance have we?🤷🏻

Our 2007 team have lost 5 players to league of Ireland 13s teams since jan 1st .. they now have 11 players and under rules are unable to sign any .. what a complete disgrace that the Ddsl / fai / SFAI have allowed this to happen .. and people call this progress?

We are a Kildare club with over 5 different Gaa clubs in our locality. You can work together with these clubs to a point but to try build a football plan around when the Gaa doesn’t require players is crazy. Something needed to change.

The entire fabric of domestic football hangs in the balance and people think it’s time for a told you so .. DDSl / FAI / SFAI should all be disbanded and a new structure put in place manage a pathway from Under 6 up, former players and qualified coaches should manage this.

I’m not buying the cars talk . Ryevale lawns Leixlip has a football pitch by the rye( even has real goal posts which we got built by tidy towns ) last 12 months I have never seen one game.. it’s phones, Xboxes and YouTube .. can’t dribble but can name a world 11 😭😭

Played a game today with 5 lads missing who needed to go get Covid jabs / one who was isolating .. a couple made second half . To hear teams call off games after 14 months cause 1 or 2 lads away is frustrating to hear, football unfortunately isn’t always fair , trust your squad

will cater for children of all levels and have up to 5 teams in one age category.. i would question parents sending children to clubs with no second / third group and then being surprised.

Would do absolutely nothing for the domestic game. Unless plan involves infrastructure improvements ( obviously not stadiums , but training facilities ) that can be then leased to existing Loi club post tournament then this is pointless

Quickly realising that the issue in schoolboy football is not caused by the schoolboy / Loi underage clubs .. it’s all these men and women running leagues and regions, worrying about losing control .. fingers crossed the new DOF removes all the affiliates 🙌🏻🙌🏻⚽️⚽️

The solution would be all Loi academies build clubs that cater for kids from age of 5 like Rovers do 🤷🏻
Rovers have heavily invested in the real grassroots.. not many other clubs want to do that.
The complexity of other (rural) clubs competing with Shamrock Rovers' underage structure was a hot topic this week.

Swap 14s for 15s and upwards and a lot of problems go away . I have received 16 calls from 2006 parents in last week . I have approx 26 training with me just to keep kids involved in some capacity even though no room to sign any more
