HIV/AIDS AND DISABILITY 💊♿️ During my weekend reminiscing time, I deeply thought about my colleagues who are HIV positive and are people with disabilities. 💊 From the double stigma and lack of disability-friendly healthcare facilities to limited access to information and services tailored to their needs, the challenges they face are immense. ♿️Many are excluded from HIV prevention programs and comprehensive sex education due to societal misconceptions that they are not sexually active. 💊Poverty worsens the situation, limiting access to proper nutrition, transportation to health facilities, and adherence to treatment. ♿️The lack of sign language interpreters and braille materials in health centers further alienates those with sensory disabilities while stigma from both the community and even healthcare workers can lead to neglect or poor treatment. We must work together to break these barriers and ensure inclusive healthcare that leaves no one behind🙏 @UNYPA1 #InclusiveHealthcare #EndStigma
