SCHOOL CLOSURE, Thursday, Feb. 6: Based on the forecast for prolonged freezing rain across the region and out of an abundance of caution, Ridley is closed today. Buses are not running, and classes and co-curricular programming are cancelled.

Our JK-Grade 3 students presented an original musical retelling of the Lunar New Year story and its many traditions. Each class prepared songs while Grade 3 students took on the main roles as narrators, zodiac animals, Drako, the curious young Dragon and Nian, the monster of Lunar New Year! 📸 |

Team R-Mageddon 1509 qualified for Provincials at the VEX Robotics competition in Ottawa! Team 1509Z (Cindy Liu, Hannah Hu, Cici Liu) was recognized for the most effective robot design, while Team 1509B (Charlie Su, Ethan Huang, Edward Hu) ranked highest among Ontario teams!

This past Saturday, the Mandeville Theatre was filled with excitement as we celebrated the Lunar New Year! The evening featured performances of song, dance and drama — showcasing incredible student talent and the beauty of Chinese culture. The event concluded with traditional food, bringing everyone together to enjoy the flavours of the celebration. Congratulations to Jayden Zhu ’25 and Giovanna Qui ’26 for leading the effort, and a big thank you to our parent donors and volunteers who made this event possible! Thanks to your generosity, we raised $11,000 to support the event, with additional proceeds going to the Ridleian Fund. 📸 |

The Ridley Math Team had a fantastic time visiting UC Irvine yesterday, where they had the opportunity to reconnect with recent graduate Yuhan (Frank) Bao ’24. Frank gave the team a tour of the campus and offered a glimpse of post-secondary life on the West Coast! Today, they’ll be heading to UC San Diego for another tour before gearing up for their competition at Caltech University tomorrow. Wishing them all the best!
