We are proud to say that the brilliant

I love this video so much. Cripps has spent the last few years bullying our midfield, until he tried to stiff arm the wrong Tiger last night. Shades of Hogan body slamming Andre…
We’ve been so blessed as Tigers fans over the last few years. Watching some of our greats not have the juice in the legs to get it done anymore is no shame… it is a reminder of how many times they did get it done when it really counted.
I am struggling to comprehend that the team of loveable losers I grew up with turned into the one of the most resilient and impressive teams I’ve ever seen in professional sport.
Non controversial opinion: Tom Lynch added two flags to Richmond. Just watched Melbourne loose two straight winnable finals because they were pushed wide as they couldn’t kick long into the fwd line under pressure to a reliable tall.
Dangerfield getting the good bloke treatment from the commentators. Danger cocked the arm, its double movement, if Lynch did it the treatment would have been completed different.
This is lovely powerful running by MRJ, but that 30m+ handpass is ridiculous from a 19 year old, I encourage anyone to try and replicate that one step wind up and see how far they can handpass.
Trent Cotchin was drafted to Richmond 15 years, 8 months and 16 days ago, 5,737 days, and for most of them he has been a source of pure joy for tiger fans. Thank you skip
Such a moment, Jack is deliberately doing as much talking as possible to take the pressure off Dusty, but when he talks the stadium goes eerily quiet. Dusty says exactly enough.
For those of us who didn’t see 1980, the Richmond 2017-19 team is the bravest, hardest working, best and most skillfull team we’ve ever had. Enjoy it for what it is. GO TIGES!!!

Saturday morning at the gym, thinking about Dusty (as one does), remembered this moment… tried not to get emotional… failed… goose bumps every single time.
Tip for those at Boxing Day test: feel free to remark in a loud voice that the last time you were at the G you watched the Tiges win a flag. Perhaps you may also want to recall moments with remarks like “that was fielded near where Pickett did his blind turn”.
Not a perfect game, but 42 hitouts (double his direct opponent), 5 tackles and a goal is a fair shift from the big fellah. Will be better for run, has a huge game in 2 weeks against the Ds… Also he’s jacked these days.
Richmond’s 2014 rookie draft haul:
Pick 12, Jayden Short
Pick 29, Jason Castagna
Pick 46, Kane Lambert 😔
Cat B Rookie- Ivan Soldo
Fair to say it turned out okay.
When you get to know a coach as well as Richmond fans know Dimma they can annoy you at times with their foibles and you can disagree with some decisions… but he’s still the best coach we will probably ever have.
Just a reminder to Tigers fans that on Friday the weather will be poor, so today is the day to be washing your lucky jumper/scarf/underwear to be dry in time for Saturday. This is no time to be taking chances.

Tom Stewart is, extremely justifiably, going to the centre of a lot of Richmond fans ire this week, but let’s take a moment to remember the good times too…
GAME DAY! I’ve been told by an extremely good source at Geelong that their players were rattled by the noise and intensity of the crowd in 2017 and still talk about it.... just something to think about pre game...

Sitting next to some lovely Pakistan supporters who flew from overseas to watch the game at the
#T20WorldCupFinal
. I think they are appreciating my explanation that in local lore it’s not fine leg, “it’s where Dusty don’t argued Tom Stewart”
I’m not sure Sydney Stack is a human or a robot perfectly designed to be a Richmond fan favourite who has been sent back in time to entertain us
#AFLTigersDees
If Port want to keep Danger quiet in tonight’s final, then rather than playing INXS before the game they should play the Richmond theme song over the stadium speakers.
Josh Caddy is 29 years old, two time premiership player and kicked 46 goals in 2018 (not just an elite trash talker). Which just highlights how short and fragile AFL careers are. Thanks for the memories Josh!
As I look around the very empty Richmond reserved seat area I wonder what other professional league would put its most popular team in garbage time spots and change the rules to disadvantage it
#AFLTigersPower
Just take a moment to appreciate in an absolutely critical moment in the game: down by 7 points, 8:40 to play in the third..... George takes a cracking mark and slots it.

Prestia winning the b&f is unnecessary confirmation that our coaches are far better judges of performance than the umpires. For me was the clear best player for the full season.
So Ross was on Cripps for a lot of the game, and while he lost the matchup he still had 21 disposals, 7 tackles and 6 clearances, which is more than you can reasonably ask for a first year player coming back from injury

The Marlion tackle (aka the Pickett fence), a 6 part story:
1. Cripps sees Pickett, he’s in a small space so decides to go through him (although Hugo is in shot he doesn’t effect the play other than to cut off Cripps’ options)
I keep coming back to Nank’s game, sure be doubled Martin’s possessions, but there are some things that’s just cant be measured statistically... physical presence. He hits with such ferocity the other team always know he’s there... and when Pickett comes on we don’t miss a beat
Btw after Stewart won the game by sniping Prestia, there was 3 minutes where Richmond played one person down in which Geelong kicked a goal and the umpires didn’t feel necessary to stop the game despite Prestia being unable to stand.
I can assure the Dwayne as part of
@FOXFOOTY
commentary, that despite saying we had nightmares from 2014 at the Adelaide oval, winning a close prelim that turned into a flag more than equalised our net feelings about the oval!
With Adam Treloar confirmed out, it’s timely to note that Prestia and Rioli (who would have been the Treloar opportunity cost) look like they are fit and healthy for round 2.
oh... and they have 4 premierships and a Jack Dyer medal between them.
A tiny moment of the game the commentary did even note: but watch the flash of 9, hunting low and hard. Vintage finals Cotchin on display last night (season high 17 contested contested possessions too)
Fantastic effort by the GWS, after averaging 3 first round picks for a decade they have managed to build a team that is winning a 6v7 final at half time.
Whatever happens this is really admirable performance, first time this year feels like we are playing harder and better coached than the opposition. Also love Jack Ross
Our pod is normally strictly non political… but any Candidate will have our full endorsement if they run on abolishing the stand rule and establishing a Royal Commission into who was responsible for introducing it.
Many thought Houli may be overtaken by the kids this year, but the rumours were he was razor sharp in preseason have been proven by his 35 touch game... also...
no one puts Bachar in the corner...
Watching the replay and I’m convinced that if Shai Bolton doesn’t play we don’t win. He makes 2-3 goals out of quarter chances that otherwise probably don’t happen
MCG should be lit blue and white tonight in tribute to the 2017 final, with the benefit of hindsight and even after all the flags…. Still the greatest game I ever attended
Im still confident and I’m hoping the extra days break helps.... but one prelim final was a 12 round heavyweight fight and the other was a pillow fight in a sorority.
Being a parent is an exercise in self doubt and worry, but when your 6 year old says that he wants to read this book and lingers on this page for bedtime reading you know you did something right
