This week in the glasshouse. Crossing has started for the main crossing block. Two tanks of SSD populations that have been sown the previous week will be going permanent. F1 seed increase is starting to flower. #ricebreedingaustralia

The CY25 trials are looking great. The field team will start doing the walk through for anthesis dates soon. This year we are also trialling the use of a drone for field data collection. This will enable us to collect more data in a more efficient way. #ricebreedingaustralia

@RiceBreeding has announced the construction of state-of-the-art #ricebreeding facilities in the Riverina, including a 528mĀ² glasshouse and a 3ha bird-proof field nursery! š¾ This will double the program's capacity, speeding up the delivery of high-yield, water-efficient #ricevarieties to #ricegrowers.
