Hey
@RishabhPant17
,
Hope your recovery process is going smooth?
My son, Ayan — is your biggest fan. A heart warrior & a fellow left-hander, he aspires to be like you. He has been praying for your recovery since Dec 30.
He turns 6 today. Could you pls wish ‘birthday’ to him?
I really like
#DeepakChahar
. But it’s disappointing to see a national player letting go of a wicket-taking opportunity. There’s no place for such philanthropy acts in international cricket.
Hope Rohit/Dravid set a culture where batters, who Buttler, are run out!
Just in case, if
@BCCI
forgot,
@ashwinravi99
bowls decent off-spin.
Most Test wickets by off-spinners in Test cricket:
Muralitharan 800 @ 22.7
Lyon 482 @ 31.2
#RAshwin
474 @ 23.9
For all the hype about the no.1 Test ranking, Ashwin, the bowler, has the modest ranking of no.1.
@bhogleharsha
Even the ability to hang around is enough like an Ishant Sharma or even a Hazlewood.
The willingness shows in a Shami or a Bumrah, but Chahal hasn't improved one bit with the willow. His fielding skills aren't great either. A very smart white-ball bowler but very one
One thing I have never been able to figure out on why most Indians immediately get up with their hand baggages the moment their flights land.. Do the airline provide a cash back or a % refund for first 20-30 exits?
@ArfaSays_
A Pakistani talking about religious freedom in a ‘secular’ state like India (home to almost as many Muslims in Pakistan) is like Salim Malik, Mohd Asif and Gurunath Meyippan heading a 3-member anti-corruption team to probe fixing…
Wriddhiman Saha’s interview and the WhatsApp row are two different subjects… Most are making a cocktail and selling it.
Any cricketer can feel low after getting dropped, but the WA message is a shame for the journalism community.
.
@BCCI
selectors, since you don't like the name - Mayank Agarwal and Faiz Fazal, get in SRK (
@iamsrk
) and Amitabh Bachchan (
@SrBachchan
) for the MCG Test. They have played Rahul and Vijay with much more success than Rahul and Vijay themselves.

My uncle, who worked as a govt. servant for decades in a high position, was a law-abiding citizen & paid all his taxes, died today. Struggled to get a bed for oxygen. Didn’t get an ICU.
Died struggling to breathe. Didn’t have that right.
@SagarW_2002
@bhogleharsha
You are 250/8 in 45 overs. Chahal’s presence will make it 257 all out in 46.4 overs. Kuldeep can take it to 268/9 in 50 overs. Both aren't ideal cases, but given a choice I will settle for the latter.
@RishabhPant17
@WisdenIndia
Bro, when you are back, we know you will compensate for all the lost months. You are a rare gem. For now, prayers for your speedy recovery. Get well soon, brother

In ODIs,
Virat Kohli vs Pakistan
M 13 | R 536 | Ave 48.7 | SR 96.2 | 50+ 4 | HS 183
Babar Azam vs India
M 5 | R 158 | Ave 31.6 | SR 76 | 50+ 0 | HS 48
@_FaridKhan
Yes, history… opponent scored nearly 1000 at 7 an over and you fail to chase total on a highway at 3 an over..
No side has been played around and toyed around this way..
@Adityakrsaha
Not really. Aussies believe in practicality. For English, anything minutely good coming out of their land will be hailed as the “greatest ever”
@joybhattacharj
I don't think it was true. Mitchell was 89 off 89. Reached 100 off 100. It was the same phase when Bumrah was bowling brilliantly and he loat Latham. It was around 36-40 overs, powerplay was still in sights, why would he get into ultra aggressive mode?
@_FaridKhan
Shanaka doesn’t need to step down. He has done very well. The only thing that could go against him is his certainty of a spot in the XI when the injured players return
At the end of the day, the
@bcci
president will lord over Lord’s balcony, taking off his blazer and waving it, declaring it 2-1.
You are allowed to dream.
@_FaridKhan
@iamAhmadshahzad
Greatest achievement by an experienced player on a 20 year old rookie… Shahzad can RIP (retire in peace) now. Can put this on his CV, narrate his grandchildren about this. Pakistan can honour him with Nishan-e-Pakistan. He still ended up scoring at a SR of 100 in the innings
@reliableritesh
@RishabhPant17
Such a lovely chap, Rishabh.. can’t wait for him to get back. Have been an avid fan since 2016 u-19 WC. I would often go to DY Patil to see him play the tournament in 2016-17. It was an eventful season for him.
@_FaridKhan
You are quite a followed figure due to the credentials you have gained through journalism. Stop wearing the cheerleading skirt, waving the pom poms of fanboyishness
@Venkatramansre3
Will you be critical of a keeper who doesn’t stump batters who stand standing outside crease? Should the skipper not be livid with the keeper?
@_FaridKhan
Dear
@_FaridKhan
, it’s a very touching note and believe me that most fans in India want the sides to play regularly. You got a superb young side and even now, players like Babar, Shaheen, Haris, Shadab, etc. are adored here.
BCCI as a body has nothing to do with the decision
@_FaridKhan
Both are capable of pulling it off.
Afridi will do it 10/10 times provided he lasts those 5 overs. But lasting those overs will be critical and Afridi would probably last 2/10 times.
Dhoni will do it 8/10 times provided he lasts those 5 overs. But he end uplasting at least
@SouthAsiaIndex
So what stopped Pakistan, the organisers, to host the tournament without India?
Time and again, PCB have bent their back in front of India and then whined.. Where were all these talks before the game?
As much I enjoy
@ashwinravi99
bowling those intelligent spells in Test cricket,
@RishabhPant17
’s belligerence & the energy that
@imVkohli
brings, one underrated aspect that brings equal thrill is watching
@Wriddhipops
keep.

I am a Bengali from India. The 71 genocide still haunts. Millions killed for their race and political affiliations. Pak government’s act has to be one of the most brutal and unfortunate acts in the history of humankind.
@SNoorulhaque
@_FaridKhan
Don't call them journalists. He tweets to trigger responses from indian fans. These guys do little to bring the warring nations together. Cricket was only hope, but they are hellbent on creating animosity.
In a much larger context, Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen are all adored in india
If I want my son to be like any sportsperson (athlete, persona, person combined), it has to be Kane Williamson…
I know he will say that the beauty of the world is that we are allowed to be who we are… but Kane’s a rare gem…
Must read:
@BLACKCAPS
@itstoheedy
Thanks to my Dada for coming to West Bengal from East Bengal (later East Pakistan and now Bangladesh). Supporting Kohlis over Littons is so much of a relief
I am sure Broad didn’t celebrate yesterday. He did? Then he must believe the bowler used great skills to deceive to the batter to find the middle of the non-striker’s bat at the same angle… incredible
@doddaganesha
And Dodda sir, I am someone who has followed every India test since 1996, including your debut. I grew up admiring Kumble-Bhajji but have to give it to Ash-Jaddu as the superior pair
@psychidiaries
I think the post sort of justifies Bavuma being the SA captain. He has been criticised heavily and I feel it’s for the colour part. He didn’t perform well but his side made it to the semis, while Faf’s didn’t. Even Smith couldn’t in 2011.
Bavuma entered the WC, averaging 55
@samiprajguru
Only 5 cricketers with over 1000 ODI runs have an average of 45+ with a SR of 95+
Shreyas is one of them. And the list is led by AB and doesn't even have any of the names mentioned by you.
Now take a cut-off of 400 runs. Only two middle-order (between 4-7) batters have 45+
@iHasnainLiaquat
India topped Group in 2015, thrashing Pakistan
India topped Group in 2017, thrashing Pakistan (got thrashed in final)
India topped league in 2019, thrashing Pakistan
@_FaridKhan
Jitna aap log Dubai Dubai ka nara lagate ho utna toh Zimbabwe bhi Perth Perth nahi chilla tah.. Zimbabwe, who didn’t qualify for WC, wasn’t as ecstatic beating Pakistan than Pakistan’s obsession with India… you are better than that..
Aap India pe focus karo, hum WC pe karte
@_FaridKhan
To be fair, it's not the right excuse fans and broadcasters knew it. As a coach, you need to be more accountable.. Of course, the match referee/organisers could have informed but still it's 2023, you simple can't have this excuse
@ArfaSays_
The difference between India and Pakistan is reflected in this tweet.
India: Skills, Hard work, ethics, domination, knockouts…
Pakistan: Luck, Qudrat ka Nizam, Revenge, bitterness, butt-hurting
