We should be DEEPLY troubled about the sustained attack some of our LGBT+ charities find themselves under for standing up for trans people in the UK.
Disturbed and angered that Mermaids can’t even offer support and advice because of the sorry situation we find ourselves in.
Due to intolerable abuse, we have made the decision to close the helpline and webchat services for the rest of today and tomorrow. Next week, to enable us to take all volunteers off the rota, we will reduce hours to 9am to 6pm only.

Extraordinary… here we have a Labour MP openly advocating for a return to Section 28. It’s just not true to say children and young people have no real concept of gender or sexuality. Providing an age-appropriate broad awareness of LGBT+ identities isn’t ‘indoctrination’.

We’ve seen a lot of politicians stating that these ‘thugs’ don’t represent Britain. But until people start acknowledging they absolutely do — and there are people in very influential roles fuelling it, these issues can never be properly dealt with.
Criminals attacking the police & stoking disorder on our streets will pay the price for their violence & thuggery.
The police have the full backing of Government to take the strongest possible action & ensure they face the full force of the law.

• Compassion: thousands upon thousands of people died.
• Integrity: If he did say it, he should own up. I think it’s very important people in high office don’t lie.
• Contempt for the people you serve isn’t a great look. There’s a pattern here.
