You know I had some bad experiences at church in youth group. Literally shamed in front of an entire youth group. Had some experiences at Bible college as well. Bad rumors, etc. Had some not great experiences in Christian ministry overseas. And NONE of it is trauma. We aren't.

Unpopular Opinion: . I'm tired of seeing people say we need to build cathedrals to have "beauty" again. I love the lack of pomp and pretension that is in a classic Baptist or small town church. Churches that prioritize spending on their members needs and not on decor.

Extremely Unpopular Take: .I don't actually think Left Behind was as bad as people say it was. It was meant as fiction, and I know people who got saved reading it. Millions did hear the Gospel from it. Maybe it's time to write more novels that present the gospel to millions?

Winsome pastors capitulate to the culture. Spurgeon stood up to his own denomination and after losing a vote 2000 to 7 parted ways. He withstood a firestorm from friends but refused to compromise. He said history would vindicate him. And it did.

Francis Chan, Matt Chandler, David Platt, TGC, there are many that everyone said were great guys that I listened to and read books by years ago. I don't listen to them anymore. Replaced them with Spurgeon, Edwards, Taylor, Augustine, and many others. Highly recommend!
