@EleventhVolume @ddillingworth @EmmettStinson @emilyhallnyc @gariellelutz @damiankelleher @IneluctableQuak @IainSmithNZ I’ve been waiting for this forever! Was just saying to someone yesterday that I was worried it might not get a second issue because it had been so long.

@audsnowmat He’s slowed down so much since Moving Kings too! I remember him saying in 2023 that he’s working on a long novel centred on Jeffrey Epstein conspiracies, which I need right now

@Greg_Gerke @MarkdeSilva1 @VinceCzyz I’m still all in on Book of Numbers, but the rhythms of Underworld are very important to me

@EleventhVolume The Penguin boxset I bought had this exact problem, except went down Swann’s Way and never returned…

@EleventhVolume It’s either Inland or Velvet Waters. Landscape with Landscape is also really nice.

@damiankelleher @EleventhVolume I quite like his short stories and Illywhacker, but the other stuff doesn't do heaps for me

@EmmettStinson The Architect is bad: just a run-of-the-mill doppelgänger narrative that is quite tendentious. Warra Warra is interesting but was written to make money And the first 3/4s of N. are phenomenal and close to the best Aus writing this century, but the last 1/4 completely ruins it.

@EmmettStinson One of the best books I’ve read over the past few years! Appropriately read to avoid writing…

@EmmettStinson It’s the most fucked chapter in the thesis too. A bizarre parody of epistolary narratives: a mad critic who writes a letter to the novel and who sews it into the book to make an extra chapter + a scholarly editor who tries to give it accuracy and order with footnotes and an intro
