Felix Fornoff is a PostDoc researcher, coordinating the case study area network and pollinator monitoring within RestPoll. His motivation to join the project was “to learn about pollinators and pollinator restoration across the EU.”

Pollination enhances crop diversity, which is essential for a nutritious diet. Without pollinators, the availability and variety of many important food sources would diminish, potentially compromising human nutrition.

Imre works for the Centre for Ecological Research (HUN-REN CER) and does field work for RestPoll. Imre: “I have been interested in bees since I was a little child. It's amazing how hard they are working."

Sándor Piross is an ecologist with a strong background in conservation science and pollinator research. He is responsible for coordinating the pollinator monitoring in the Hungarian case study area (CSA).

Sara and her team are leading the literature synthesis and conducting sampling in agroforestry systems to assess their potential for pollinator conservation: “I want to find ways to truly, effectively and sustainably support wild pollinators and the required natural habitats.”

Last September our researchers in the United Kingdom conducted a pilot study. Jacqui James: “In September I conducted a pilot study at our restoration sites in Somerset to set up our transects and test the field protocol in preparation for the field season next year!"

Susanne Werle is part of Sara Leonhardts team as a co-lead in our Work Package 6, to facilitate outreach events. "By joining RestPoll as a researcher for WP 6, I can bring all of my knowledge and experience to help communicate the importance of pollinators for our landscapes.”
