I actually do think it’s important for Bowman to win his race. I think it’s something to support as DSA. What I don’t like is the dismissal of pro-Palestinian protestors, or to believe that just electing more Bowmans is our answer.

It is very frustrating when so called leftists call the DSA IC tankies or suggest somehow the US left emphasizes too much on US empire. As if the US has ever faced any real consequence (sanctions etc) for all the death it’s caused.

I’ll always remember leftists who’ve said the US left places too much emphasis on US foreign policy, or that somehow, just focusing on the US empire is its own form of exceptionalism. Yea, sure. The past year has really revealed who gets it, who doesn’t.

The DSA IC was correct in showing support for Venezuela’s govt. especially when there is a growing right wing coup movement searching for validation. It is utter nonsense to not extend solidarity to Chavistas in Venezuela 🇻🇪.
The DSA IC's statement is premature because detailed election results at the polling station-level have not been released. Additionally, praise of biometric voter registration is misguided. Our members on DSA's NPC are proposing that this statement be rescinded.

CodePink and Black Alliance for Peace are in the Leninist tradition of focusing on the imperialism of one own’s nation. Furthermore, they both are doing something essential by main aging a focus on American bloodlust and empire, since it’s something that’s yet to be dealt with.

The DSA didn’t really do a lot, as far as I know, for the Amazon labor fight. It was still led by socialists and people who believe in class struggle.

@Forever_noir_ I think there was a group who did occupy the statehouse down there and it may have been the dream defenders. So I think they’re doing a good job overall tbh. This is just one moment captured on video of some people dancing. I don’t think this sums up the entirety of said protest.

This was such a dense but important read. Basically, discusses the reasons behind some of the biggest famines in modern history (European and Japanese and US imperialism) and also talks through how everyday people reacted. Very engrossing read 👍🏽

@lionel_trolling It’s not just “cultural”. It’s a health situation. Unless yes someone has some kind of foot issue whereby they need more support, by not taking off your shoes, you’re just dragging in dirt and grime and germs. It’s basic.
