Abruptly stopping refugee resettlement didn't just impact refugees overseas. It impacted people like our Afghan allies who have undergone years of vetting to come to the US legally, as well as local agencies who now face layoffs and closure because they're owed reimbursement.

My deepest condolences go out to the families of those lost in last night’s awful tragedy, including those we are heartbroken to learn have PA-05 ties. As we await more details, I want you to know I will do all I can to demand truth and accountability at the federal level.

I was proud to gather with federal, state, local, and consular officials in solidarity with over 300 of our immigrant neighbors in Norristown last night as we work together to navigate the dishonest, cruel, and wasteful immigration orders issued by the Trump administration.

The American people won this round, but we are not out of the woods yet. My statement on the Trump administration's decision to rescind its order attempting to freeze federal aid spending:

1/ My team and I have been inundated with messages from constituents dealing with the chaos created by the Trump Administration’s illegal freeze of federal funding across the nation. 🧵.

2/ Trump and his unelected henchmen have blocked funding to organizations and people providing vital services in our community, ranging from firefighters and cops, to domestic violence shelters, children’s cancer research, and legal representation for those in need.

3/3 No administration has a mandate to harm our fellow Americans in this way, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that critical programs serving our communities continue to receive the federal funds that Congress has authorized.
