This is exactly what I’ve wanted in Aragane no Ko. recognition that Kai is not some saviour or gift from god, simply just a kid burdened with the struggles of a previous generation. It’s a really good allegory for our own world and issues like climate change

Yuji’s ability to see souls before bodies has been suggested in more ways than we think.

Maki is lowkey one of the greatest written female character of all the manga.
It’s not obvious since many mangakas think that the only way to create an interesting female character is to sexualize it with curves rather than strong personality.
