@TwosUpJ51 @axiochrono I'm talking about the children. Either you believe that British kids born in England from foreign-born parents have the same rights as any other British kids. Or you just think citizenship means absolutely nothing, and the UK is just a big Tesco with private security

@TwosUpJ51 @axiochrono You got the part that the kids are born in the UK from British parents? If you want to have strict immigration, fine. But you can't suddenly do it 20 years later on children who only know the UK. Else, what's the meaning of citizenship? Just make decisions and enforce them.

@TwosUpJ51 @axiochrono The guy was denied asylum, also in appeal. Then, he was allowed to remain and become British 20 years ago - no one seems to know why. Current debate about kids' special needs is because we're talking about stripping a UK citizen of his nationality and take him away from his kids.

There is always the same paradox in those studies. The government creates a special visa route to allow public authorities (and citizens) to spend less money on health and care. Then they complain the people taking those jobs are not paid enough to contribute with their taxes.

@maiamindel Also, hard to ignore this comes just after the Horizon IT scandal, in a long tradition of the judicial system convicting people at the bottom of the food chain to avoid admitting there might be a problem at the top.
