@tofar1 Hard agree. Infuriates me. Lucky with K-12 college in Merredin. Lots of working townies and a few farmers send their kids there. Last 2 years grads in Law, Medicine, Maths, Physio, or apprenticeships then run local biz. Local kids ⬆️ local sport, after school jobs - we all win.

@ProfRayWills Is this up and running yet Ray? Drive past the site just about every week! Could just about have a drive trail in GEH from Northam (hydrogen) to Cunderdin (solar) to Merredin (solar and wind). Add in some fab silo art and great coffee along the way :)

@pbl1972 @manda_babbler @RichardMcLellan @DPIRDWA @NACC_NRM Also the areas outlined in black were the only areas subject to a level of ground truthing and consultation with community - hopefully this ground truthing can be expanded with the extension of the program, as new data emerges this can be also be incorporated

@robertgrima2 @pbl1972 @manda_babbler @RichardMcLellan @DPIRDWA @NACC_NRM It is important to note the limitations to some of the datasets as outlined in the paper, especially access to quality social related datasets. Correct - the boundaries are due to datasets (economic/social) collected by Shire.

@SofieDoubleu Wave Rock is one of many cool places to see in the Wheatbelt of WA - make a road trip of it during spring and visit the many granite exposures dotted around the landscape, and drop in to one of the many events that occur in Sept-Oct. Visit the Wheatbelt Way website for inspo.

Proud to be a part of this initiative since its inception a few years ago! @DPIRDWA @WheatbeltDevCom @ShireofMerredin @DumbleyungShire . West Australia is leading the way with innovation in climate independent water supplies.
Minister MacTiernan announced Katanning, Merredin and Dumbelyung would receive #WaterSmartFarms funds to install trial desalination systems to help with drought resilience and watertables at a field day near Kojonup @DPIRDbroadacre @DirtSouthern @GGA_WA

@roseycatherine @CentralStation6 My personal experiences… where does your husband farm (he is a cabinetmaker); well then where did your family farm (they don’t but grandparents did); where are you sending your kid to high school? (the local Public school thanks) … let’s expand the definition of “rural”

@cstevens73 You should be able to still get a digital farm map from DPIRD Cindy with all those layers. The best part of building the map at the kitchen table though was the discussion, planning and problem solving.
