I'm seeing a lot of overseas fans tweet incorrect information about stuff Kubo allegedly confirmed and I feel this should be corrected. First of all, there has been no word from Kubo about a continuation of the one-shot since his comment on KlubOutside in 2022. 🧵[1/4]

So, I got alerted to this video, why did this guy go to the effort of deleting my username from my translations? I spent a good few hours editing out the Japanese from Kubo's drafts and storyboards alone, cleaning up the image to replace it with my English translation 😭

this is not the kanji that is used here. At most, we can speculate that Kubo deliberately chose "meimei" as a sort of wordplay. Again this is just information that is in the one-shot itself. There is no new title, no new information. [4/4]

Lastly 獄頤鳴鳴篇, which appeared at the end of the one-shot, translates to something like "Echoing Jaws of Hell Arc", or "Howl From The Jaws of Hell Arc" not "christening." Although we have another "meimei" in our language that translates to "christening" (命名) [3/4]

The Yokohama exhibit included Gokui Meimei-Hen as part of its Bleach arcs timeline which isn't a confirmation of anything. To me, it's only logical to incorporate it in the timeline with the other arcs. [2/4]

Could of just reached out instead of quote tweeting but okay... The images where sent to me, it wasn't something I went out my way to "edit" out.. the translations on the images were correct so posted them

No he actually took my edited and translated cour 2 drafts into Photoshop, purposely removed my name, and in one instance replaced my name with the Japanese that was originally there, also looks like he forgot to delete my name from Senjumaru's Bankai draft lmao:

Either way, someone, whether it's you or not, went out of their way to not just load up PS or some other app to crop out/erase credit but actually attempt to hide that they did it (putting that random Japanese furigana back in over where my name used to be, lol what!?)

Makes no sense, all the text in your video is copy+pasted from my translation post on Tumblr/Reddit too, so you must have seen the images there.

If you had done a simple Google search on the source, you would've realized the image was originally cleaned and translated by me and then edited to deliberately erase credit by this other person you claim is responsible. It's YOUR video, why are you not taking basic steps

and this is the thing that bothered me, because it says everything about their intent. I wouldn't have said anything otherwise. I don't normally care when people share my translation work without credit, I want overseas fans to have access to something accurate.

The issue was the very deliberate removal of credit to mislead, like I said I don't normally care when people share my stuff without credit. I agree it's not that deep, but it's funny to see you not taking any responsibility whatsoever for what is ultimately your video.

You (or whoever you're blaming) took the images I spent hours editing, cleaning up and translating and deliberately removed the freaking credit to mislead. That's the issue you absolute melon. Nobody is talking about how "genuine" the translation is.

I'm not hungry for credit, it's not that deep, I literally don't care that people use my stuff without mentioning me, but this deliberate covering up of the source of the translation is weird behaviour, that's all.

It's not human error (see this example where he edited my username out deliberately, and put the original Japanese back in where my name was), it's intentional, that's why I even called him out.
