Bukele is undoubtedly trolling, but to emphasize again: this is so incredibly illegal that there's not even a hint of possible way to do it under any circumstances whatsoever. It violates international law and the U.S. constitution. Period. End of story.
We have offered the United States of America the opportunity to outsource part of its prison system. We are willing to take in only convicted criminals (including convicted U.S. citizens) into our mega-prison (CECOT) in exchange for a fee. The fee would be relatively low for the U.S. but significant for us, making our entire prison system sustainable.

🚨 In his zeal for mass deportations, Trump is reassigning FBI agents away from TERRORISM cases to go after immigrants instead! This comes after he’s already required the DOJ to divert “significant” resources away from drug trafficking cases to immigration cases instead.

Interesting. A slight *decline* in ICE's detained population in Trump's first week in office, possibly because people were being held in Border Patrol custody for repatriation and not sent to ICE instead.
ICE just released its latest detention data and guess what? ICE's detained population actually *DECLINED* between January 11 and January 26, with only a modest and predictable increase in detentions from ICE.

Upsetting to see DHS cite FAIR's absurd and widely debunked study on the "costs of illegal immigration"; the study which dishonestly counts all the costs of educating US citizen children but then refuses to account for the taxes those children pay once they become adults.
