What could’ve been a wet Wednesday turned into wonderful cleanup weather. Masonic crew cleared trash and gathered dumped items around Trader Joe’s and Muni depot. Afternoon team at the Filbert Steps picked up around the recent landslide that took out part of Sansome.

Great showing at this afternoon’s Richmond Branch @SFPublicLibrary Cleanup. Several returning volunteers and a few new ones all came together to make the neighborhood around this community hub where kids and adults frequent much cleaner.

This past ordinary weekend in San Francisco, over 600 volunteers cleared a whopping 670 bags of trash at 31 separate cleanups citywide. Everyone from Mayor Daniel Lurie to toddlers came out to pitch in. Cleanups are for anyone who wants to do their part to keep our city clean!

@Pankaj_K_Singh @DanielLurie The underlying cause is the over production and consumption of materials, especially single-use plastics. We’re fighting in that front too through supporting legislative efforts. Our top propriety is a ban on non-bio cigarette filter sales in CA.

@Pankaj_K_Singh @DanielLurie There many many factors; People who litter and illegally dump, those that overstuff their bins, homeless people, city not ending trash cans enough, and much of it is the wind and things that fall out of bins. One part of the answer, as many of us picking trash up.
