Big news. In slightly more layman's terms: it paves the way for stablecoins and non-bank payment service providers like PayPal to settle directly on central bank systems. This reduces back-end reliance on banks, and opens path to more competitive payment services.
A landmark move all central banks should note. The ECB’s green light for non-banks in CB settlement systems proves fintech access doesn’t break the singleness of money—it strengthens competition and resilience. Others should follow suit—no excuses. 🇪🇺

Some people will probably not realise cliffs are damaging because they see them used for employee equity comp. In that case fat reward from the cliff makes sense to incentivse high effort commitment for some minimum term - and effects of cliff on market are negligible because shares vested are insignificant compared to total issue outstanding and market liquidity. Not the case with crypto at all.
