What do you guys think about tarrifs and reducing trade deficits. I believe, one of the reasons USD remains the world reserve currency is because US runs a deficit with all countries+PetroDollar+EU support. So what happens when trade deficits drastically reduce? - Open to ideas.

@APompliano Tariffs will bring manufacturing back to US. If it keeps going at some point down the line it might even result in a trade surplus. If there is a trade surplus/reduced deficit, how do you think US will hold it's reserve currency status

@Node21e6 Spot on! "Deficits aren't a weakness they're a feature of reserve currency". If the deficits start shrinking, do you think goods producing nations will wait for it to drop down to ≤0? Or they will strip USD off of the reserve currency status and fly to some other currency/money?
