I was playing around with the idea of "prompt upsampling" from the Dalle-3 paper.
Leads to some awesome results ngl. Way better at understanding short prompts and making relevant images. Nailed the vibe I had in mind every time.

After the news today about OpenAI’s board removing CEO Sam Altman, the Retro Diffusion board (me) met to discuss removing the current CEO (also me). We are excited to announce that all of the shareholders (me again) agree that I should step down, and be replaced by me.

pixel art model... These are generated at 1408x960 (176x120 pixels) and image to image'd for 2816x1920 (352x240 pixels).
Probably won't be able to reach those sizes inside Aseprite, but hey, the model doesn't break down!

I just managed to get floating point 8 precision working in
#RetroDiffusion
(only for 30+ series nvidia GPUs)
This means you'll be able to generate up to a 240x240 pixel art image with only 4GB of VRAM!
That's 1920x1920 for normal stable diffusion, absolutely massive for 4gb!
A friend wanted some desktop backgrounds, so I took a few minutes(!!!) to generate some. Still honestly can't believe how far things have come. Absolutely mind-blowing.

So excited about this, the new text encoding for

makes image gen follow prompts way more closely, and it should be able to run on most hardware.

1/6 Yesterday I turned 22, I’m willing to bet most of you had no idea I was so young. The past year has been quite a ride, its had some of the best moments in my life, along with the worst. Last August I lost a lot of important people, all within a week. That left me devastated.

I've been having fun with upscaling and downscaling pixel art using

It's super simple too, for this I just used Image to Image, 65 strength, and the prompt "a close up portrait of a muscular man with a beard, dark, dramatic".

, calling it Neural Resize. It's capable of doing some crazy stuff, the only inputs it requires are a short description of the image, and a new size.
Here's a few comparisons to other upscaling methods, including RotSprite.
