Craziest part of that was Liverpool barely threatening until the last few minutes of stoppage time. Dreadful performance, thoroughly deserved that result

@mdudley1894 just meant Savinho was clearly pressing then relaxed and started producing after his first. Wouldn’t compare them as players

Pep Guardiola: “The plan was for Ruben Dias to play just 45 minutes because he came from injury. I didn’t want to bring two new players, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis, playing at the same time with that result - it was too much risk. Liked what I saw from Reis. Khusanov was excellent after he came on. Promising.

@DeBlueLou Wonder how true those reports about already securing Cambiaso are. Would at least allow them to focus on CM(s) and probably a LB.

@DeBlueLou The number of players we’d need to sign is why I think we may end up keeping Bernardo until his deal expires. If nothing else he’s a valuable glue player who can manufacture depth by playing anywhere

@DeBlueLou sat down and tried to work out the team for next season after we signed Nico and quickly realized how bleak the picture is at #8 if they allow him to go. Rodri-Nico pairing is probably great but the most advanced CM would be Bernardo? Kovacic? McAtee? Just not gonna cut it

@mr__carlitos gotcha. You’re right in that it prob wasn’t a great shift for a left back specifically. Not like he was bombing down the wing or anything, just thought he was tidy in possession

More than a bit annoyed at the subs that defer to players who were at their peak during the treble season despite the evidence on the pitch. Just no reason to mangle the team shape to accommodate a 34 yr old CM or a toothless winger.
