@CrossingUNStyle @GinoPatti88 Based on the first presidency I am not hopeful. He likes the spotlight and easily gets that with EOs. Creating a coalition to pass things into law is a slow messy process and he doesn’t like “getting in the weeds”.

I worked in local law enforcement for over 20 years and unfortunately it is typical of a city to operate like New Orleans did that night. The city and police admin tend to plan for the best and ignore the worst scenario. They fear complaints about traffic and “looking bad” more than they do safety of the revelers. They put a ton of police out to minimize and contain rather than deploy things that will prevent tragedies. The barricades being repaired at a time they knew they should have them tells you all you need to know about their concern for the celebration. This happens all the time and cities usually get away with it by relying on the people’s ignorance.

@reeseonable All politicians use the military as pawns in their quest for power and control. They only feign respect to accomplish their goals. If they respected them they wouldn’t needlessly send them into harm’s way.
