Health Insurance is so frustrating. Grateful to have it but you go to the Dr. Pay a co-pay. Then wait for a bill to trickle in, which you don’t know what it will be. Why can’t you just know what you’re gonna owe early on?. There’s gotta be more transparency in that space.

This past week I overheard a conversation between a group of retired folks talking about, you guessed it, retirement. We were all staying at a bed and breakfast and had just come down for some coffee. First thing I hear is, “early retirement is a worthwhile pursuit” . I’m.

Say what you want about Finance Twitter (X) but…. The community is quick to call out harmful finance takes and disingenuous money advice. I can appreciate that.

The older I get, the more I’m willing to pay for convenience. Maybe I’m just maturing more or maybe I’m not as frugal as I thought I was.

My emergency fund is my defense . My investment account is my offense . These go hand in hand ✋.

A long term investor: . - Has a plan .- Is patient .- Can stomach volatility .- Thinks long term .- Stays in the market.- Ignores the noise .- Utilizes the power of compounding. Long term > Short term.

An emergency fund is protection for your investments. Having cash on hand prevents you from having to sell investments to cover emergencies . Don’t underestimate the e-fund 🤙.

Anyone else getting 2021 mania vibes out there? . - Crypto pumping. - YOLO stock positions. - Predictions to the moon. - Group chats talking about the markets again. Good time to say, don’t let yourself fly too high.

“Money Changes People” . I think there is some truth in that statement. But I am more inclined to think money amplifies the kind of person an individual is, rather than changing them altogether. Whether that’s for better or worse. Maybe I just haven’t spent enough time.

The interest rate on our mortgage is 4.8%. We bought a home in the first half of 2022 when interest rates started to rise. Felt like we missed out a bit. Everyone else seemed to have a 3% Int. rate (or at least the ones who talked about it). 4.8% looks pretty good right.

We almost always tip our housekeeper when staying at a hotel. Tipping culture has gotten a bit out of control lately, I get it. But this is something we’ve been doing for years. I worked in Hotels for a while and have witnessed firsthand how tough of a job Housekeeping is.
