Bringing some levity to the day, we've got first publication of the year! @RebeccaEntress @DrEcoclaire and I looked at evacuation admin burdens for the special needs pop during Hurricane Irma, and unsurprisingly, psychological costs were most prevalent

Many of these resources (and articles) shared have interesting link to what we heard in Maui...nature's effects are a representation of how we care (or don't care) for it
Given the discourse on fire, climate, & Indigenous Peoples- I put together this quick guide 📸🧵. Share. Support. Learn 🌿🔥 #wildfires #california #climate #goodfire

This disaster must reshape the way the city, state, and country look at fires. Heartbreaking not just CA, but all of us, because the ripple effects will impact us all

This morning I had to teach my mom about video-splice, in this case, a video putting AI human transformations with America’s Got Talent judges’ reactions. While innocent, this made me realize how malcontent splices could circulate just as easily #AIregulations are needed

That's my coauthor! Amazing how a chance email can lead to some really cool work! We also found "effectiveness of hurricane preparedness also depends on the robustness of campus emergency response systems and infrastructure" Investing in these systems is a necessity.
Our new paper (Understanding Hurricane Preparedness Behaviors: The Case Study of Florida) just got published in the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction @ClemsonUniv

On holiday and was excited to see the Christchurch, NZ city council building #geekingout As a PA scholar researching disasters, I wish I had more time in town to learn about their resilient recovery measures…but I don’t think my husband would’ve been on board for that detour 😂

#2024APPAM what an interesting workshop to try to help bridge the gap between researcher writing and practitioner understanding!

We’re so in sync our outfit colors were coordinating. Having done the work, it was great to be able to bring the MPA students from our @usf_spa to present at #2024APPAM on my research funded by @USFHuman and @HazCenter. #GoBulls
