The 26th Constitutional Amendment, & the sinister motives that propelled it, have reduced the judiciary into a battleground. Judges from the (original) Supreme Court are pitted against those from the weird fabrication called the constitutional benches - virtually a parallel judicial apparatus launched with the objective of dividing this key institution of the state so that the executive could tighten its stranglehold to secure verdicts to further consolidate its dictatorial parlance. With one pillar virtually disentangled in the context of trichotomy of power, the state is wobbling with its constitutional structure having virtually collapsed. Are there any sane voice left in the annals of power who could look beyond their personal myopic interests & retrieve Pakistan from staring into a deep, black hole? Apparently not. What shame! What pity!
