The Egyptian state is using several channels to call on Egyptians abroad to return home safely. Yet, activists who are still inside Egypt are being rearrested, people like @alaa and others are languishing and dying in prison, and academics who have been released are on travel ban.
Activist Sherif El-Rouby - released from prison in May after receiving a presidential pardon - has been rearrested in #Egypt. Sherif's detention comes days after the @StateDept certified Egypt had made "clear and consistent progress" on human rights. This isn't progress.
