Thanks Helen. I keep reminding my community of how thankful we should be of the civil rights movement for making it possible for us to come here and thrive. Unfortunately, many younger Indian Americans arrive here with a huge sense of privilege and entitlement -- which is now back-firing bigly!

Normalizing hatred against Muslims and Christians on a massive scale is a Modi/BJP invention. Those who have not said a word about India's march towards violent majoritarianism, but are now complaining about the surge in anti-India, anti-Indian memes, are the biggest hypocrites in my view: "...if people don’t wake up now, they’ll realize too late where this road leads." @Hindus4HR @SunitaSunitaV @IAMCouncil

Hindu supremacists welcomed Trump, but his attacks on immigrants have made all Indian and South Asian American communities unsafe. Savera stands with all immigrants and calls for a united front against anti-immigrant racism.

HAF, an organization funded by blood-stained money from RSS/VHP/Modi supporters, is asking the Trump government to investigate a legitimate US non-profit? Does this not sound like an opening volley of HAF playing the role of a government informant? Now we all know why HAF is so bent on getting Tulsi Gabbard as the DNI and Kash Patel at the FBI. I realize that HAF is surprised and jealous that HfHR (a "fringe group" as it keeps repeating) has been funded by several independent foundations, who like our work in calling out bigotry and religious extremism. There is no conspiracy here. At this juncture, it's far more important to ask why over the years HAF has not been successful in getting funding from institutional funders, and why its message has largely been rejected by mainstream media, compared to the massive media presence that HfHR has built in just five years. Does this have to do with HfHR's unifying and peacebuilding message as opposed to HAF's narrow, divisive, and sectarian message, which promotes hatred (of Muslims, Christians, progressive Hindus, and academics) as a glue to consolidate its supporters and donors? It is a pity that HAF is now down to scavenging on the half dead USAID to feed its fanciful conspiracies. @hindus4hr @SunitaSunitaV @HinduAmerican @WeAreSavera @IAMCouncil @USAIDIndiaMD @TidesCommunity .bsky.social

Does Rep. Thanedar represent only Hindus in his constituency? Ever since the Hindu American Foundation's friend Vivek Ramaswamy's ill-considered tweet on H1B and American culture, social media is going crazy with unprecedented attacks and mockery of India, Indian Americans, and H1B workers, not to speak of open bigotry against undocumented workers from Central America. Canada-bashing has also taken an ugly turn. Yes, as part of these attacks, we have also seen MAGA extremists mocking Hindus and Hinduism, which must be condemned, but it is a small part of the bigger attack on all minorities and immigrants. Amidst all this, what would you expect a Democratic US congressman of Indian origin to do? Sadly, not what you think. Instead of addressing xenophobia and racism against entire communities, and the Trump government's frontal attack on DEI efforts, Rep. Thanedar is busy pushing a sectarian and narrow resolution on "Hinduphobia," which deliberately elides over the fact that Indian Americans include Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and others. This is unfortunate. His self-serving resolution is supported by groups like HAF and is designed to distract from their unholy camaraderie with the MAGA Right, which seems to have backfired and has triggered the worst forms of bigotry against Indian Americans, including Hindus. The resolution is also designed as a smokescreen to hide the ongoing genocidal actions by the Modi government against India's non-Hindu minorities and his push towards an exclusive Hindu nation, where others will at best be second-class citizens. Beware, if this resolution passes, HAF is standing by to expand the definition of "Hinduphobia" to claim that any criticism of Hindutva ideology is an attack on all Hindus. And any criticism of the Modi government is an attack on India. HAF is also hoping to label several terms we use in day to day conversations as "Hinduphobic," such as 'model minority,' 'brahmanism,' 'bakht' (Hindi equivalent of fans/followers/devotees), 'exotic,' 'Hindutvadi" (a believer in Hindu supremacist ideology), and so on. This would be like White supremacists labeling terms like "Jim Crow," "Black Lives Matter," "White privilege," etc. as racist. This is clearly a desperate attempt to shut down any criticism of Hindu supremacy and Modi, a project in which Rep. Thanedar is willingly participating. It is time for Rep. Thanedar's constituents to call him out on his partisanship and demand that he speak up and act for the welfare of all the communities that he represents. @Hindus4HR @SunitaSunitaV @ShriThanedar @HinduAmerican @WeAreSavera @RoKhanna @PramilaJayapal @CongressmanRaja

Better a 'woke' than a 'wack' Tulsi Gabbard cries “religious bigotry against Hindus and Hinduism” at the Senate confirmation hearing, and HAF cheers her on. Are they implying that the opposition to Tulsi as DNI is primarily because she's Hindu? What nonsense! This is a smokescreen put up to obfuscate the real threats that Tulsi could pose to the lives and safety of American citizens (Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians) who oppose the violence-dependant Modi regime in India, given her proximity to him and his Hindutva ideology. The real issue that the senators ought to have pursued is whether she will be completely impartial in acting on and sharing with America's security partners (and with targeted individuals and organizations), any intelligence that the US may receive on transnational repression by the Modi regime? Are they afraid that their ignorance on Hindutva will show, or are they afraid of 'hurting the sentiments' of a moneyed community, or being labelled 'woke'? Remember, intelligence sharing and action by the FBI and the Canadian government may have saved the lives of many Sikhs in Canada and the US. What's the guarantee that this will happen next time, with Tulsi as DNI and Kash at the FBI? @Hindus4HR @HinduAmerican @SunitaSunitaV @WeAreSavera @SALDEF @sikh_coalition @RoKhanna @CongressmanRaja @RepJayapal @SuhagAShukla
