A simple accommodation would be allowing an employee who sometimes runs 10m late to clock out 10m late and do the same shift time. There are accomodations that exist for many situations and I think "that seems impossible" isn't always the best reaction to have right off the bat.

1. It's not a "burn the boats" situation. My parents divorced and it was pretty amicable according to both, and they still text occasionally to say hi and talk about us 25 years later.

Every emotion, chemically-speaking, lasts 90 seconds. If you keep engaging, the emotion will continue to "fire" and reset this. If you distract yourself, you can deactivate the initial reaction. This is helpful in processing trauma, in particular/ why grounding techniques work.

It took me 25 years of showing symptoms to get diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a diagnosis which basically consists of a single, simple stretching test. I cannot tell you how many times I was dismissed with "lots of young people have back pain."

This happened to me once in a parking garage. Guy sneaked up on me and I slammed the door immediately; I got called every slur in the book for a woman as he got in his car and sped off.
Parking lots and garages are extremely dangerous places for us and I absolutely hate them.
