Rising anti-trans sentiment, new poll shows. This coincides with increased hostility & misinformation on mainstream & social media. We're losing the battle for trans rights. The public are turning against trans people. Current trans campaign tactics are not working. We have a big problem: Very few trans people are willing to challenge transphobes in interviews. Many media claim trans activists turn down interview offers. This allows transphobes to spout bigotry without challenge. That's a BIG MISTAKE! LGBs reversed homophobia in 1980s & 90s by doing media interviews to rebut homophobes & show why they were wrong. We need the same 'hearts & minds' approach today, with trans advocates doing more TV, radio & press interviews to win back public support on trans issues. Trans voices to the front!
