Proud moment. Thank you Rebecca!
Delighted to have successfully completed my PhD a few weeks ago! Extremely grateful to my supervisors, Prof Rachel Myles, Prof Godfrey Smith and Dr Francis Burton, for their support over the last few years. Thank you also to my examiners, Prof Paul Volders and Dr Ole Kemi, for making my Viva an interesting and enjoyable experience! Also very grateful to the BHF for providing funding which made my PhD research possible🫀 @RachelCMyles @GodfreySmith @FrancisLBurton @olekemi @volderspaul @TheBHF

Check out the great primer on hiPSC-CM models for #Cardiotoxicity by @kyleshead7 in #JACCCardioOnc! @ElineHuethorst @ninianlang @GodfreySmith @TheBHF
#CardioOnc
#JACCCardioOnc Primer: Focused summary on the "Use of hiPSC-Derived Cardiomyocytes for #Cardiotoxicity Screening": 1. #hiPSC-CM = great alternative to in vivo models for drug cardiotoxicity prediction 2. Monolayers = for pro-arrhythmic effects; inotropic actions need more exploration 3. Spheroids & engineered tissue = promising for chronic cardiotoxicity studies 4. Paracrine effects = crucial; assays mimicking non-myocyte cells can ID cardiotoxicity 5. Future = Patient-specific assays! #CardioOnc #DrugSafety 🧬🔬@RachelCMyles @ninianlang @kyleshead7
