It’s pretty easy to trivialise all the blessings afforded to us and forget how important it is to thank God for them. If I look at were I was 3 years ago I can’t believe it. I never thought I would drive a mb, later on, own it at just the age of 25. Trust God with your life.
One thing I appreciate about moving from my home country is just how I don't have pressure to show up anymore. I don't need to own a car, flashy phone or even look richer than I am. I am just me, riding metros and building generational wealth.
The appetite for tech in Zim is amazing. The turn out at Zim devfest 🔥🔥🔥. I really wish y'all the best and I know this is only the beginning.
If you know someone who is dedicated to the craft but lacks mentorship, tools and finances to grow, feel free to DM.
It took me time to accept that I deserve the good that's come my way. Coming back from vacation to a new title and scope was unreal, though instead of being happy, I drowned in a pool of inadequacy. Allow me to reintroduce myself, meet the new Senior Mobile Engineer

Investing in Zimbabwe is probably one of the worst things you can think about doing. A simple process takes forever. What a terrible and horrendous experience. How are we to build our country when there is so much corruption and incompetence.
I can’t get over the fact that I will soon be building apps for the visual impaired. Nothing is more satisfactory for me (professionally) than developing tools that help humanity.
For the new android dev, we need more people like you in the community, reach out via DM or something and I will pay the developer account fee for you.
There is no monopoly to knowledge. If you stop learning you will be replaced. YouTube is an amazing university, Udemy got good cheap course, MIT Open-courseware is amazing. Surely there is no excuse for ignorance.
Being an immigrant from a 3rd world country is hard. Everyone thinks they are doing you a favour. Your fellow countrymen can’t wait for your eventual downfall so that they can laugh at how you came back with nothing. *sigh
These past couple of months have been pure bliss, I am exactly where I need to be, mentally, socially, financially, emotionally, spiritually and professionally, i absolutely don't wish to be anywhere else.
This is not a typical rags to riches story because I had a lot of privilege at this point, but on this day I decided that 🇿🇼 ZW was not going to cut it for me or at least in my mid to late 20s. I sold everything I owned, my car, furniture etc and burnt all bridges of retreat.
Building a home is hard, attempting to do so from the diaspora is even worse. As a way to keep track of my progress and to share experiences with other folks in the same boat, I decided to build in public.
First episode of a life long journey.
Fellow Zim devs, as the year ends take some time to reflect on your growth this year. Celebrate your wins, and learn from your losses. In 2023 let's switch things up, avoid under-estimating, care about quality, communicate effectively and build amazing products.
Thrilled to have presented at our annual
@vestiaireco
Tech Pizza Beer meetup. I had the opportunity to delve into stable diffusion and the exciting prospects of harnessing Apple Silicon, Bionic chip, and CoreML to unlock on-device text-to-image generation capabilities.
Software engineering is all about embracing the "fake it till you make it" thought process. Keep pushing your boundaries, never stop learning, and dare to step out of your comfort zone. 🚀
I can’t believe we have ordinary citizens defending a minister who bought an expensive car in a country where 7.9 million people are in dire poverty. They say he is a hard worker 😅.
You don't need to be a software engineer to make it in tech, there are a lot of other things to do.
You can be a Quality Assurance Engineer, UX Writer, Product Designer, Product Manager, etc. The list is endless. Don't limit yourself.
This is where I come from, that is the same washing line I used during my secondary education years. If you ever doubt the power of grace, just take a step back, breathe and look at where you come from.
I have tried to understand Bitcoin, crypto, nfts etc but kuyala. I failed to understand this stuff. To me it all feels like a decentralized ponzi scheme.
Chronic anxiety is the worst. All along I thought something was wrong with my chest. A visit to the doctor and radiologist revealed that there is nothing wrong with my lungs. The diagnosis - anxiety. Take care of yourself fam. Thrive to be in peace with yourself.
Being an active sim racer taught me this one thing: speed isn't everything; consistency wins races. Applies to life too—it's a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself, stay consistent, avoid trouble, and enjoy the journey.
A month ago I had the worst mental breakdown. Being home has been therapeutic and I appreciate everyone who made my stay awesome. Proudly Zimbo. 🇿🇼 Au Revoir À bientôt.
Looking for two interns / Attachees who are willing to get paid for learning android and web. If you know someone dm git repo and maybe cv to me or

. We don’t discriminate based on which university you went to.
@MatonhodzeV
This year has been a pain but still we rise. Regardless there is more to celebrate🎉. I enrolled for my masters at a prestigious university in France, owned my first benz, got certified, sat on a global Huawei panel. The year is not over, trust God, he will come through for you.
Finally got to the point were most of my friends are either getting married or talking about it. How is this possible gents, just yesterday we were cycling to school?
Yet another opportunity to mix tech pizza and beer
@vestiaireco
. It was a great opportunity to talk about a topic that’s so dear to me. Psychology and neuroscience are not alien to software engineering.

The past few months have taught me the importance of perspective. Everything in life, including life itself, is about perspective. What are you focusing on? How does it affect you? Through which lens are you experiencing it all?
