My dad was released after...24 years (had to count) at 12:01 am this morning. We had a long ride home. He was tripped out by the Bluetooth in my car and how apps work. He stayed up all night watching tv because he couldn’t believe there were that many channels lol.

Last dad update of the day: we took him to a seafood spot that does the whole boil thing. Waitress asked if it was good and he said “Good food and my family? Baby it was a dream come true!” She cracked up laughing. I called him extra but I definitely knew what he meant. ❤️

Dad update: he can come home EVERY weekend from the transition place. Including THIS weekend even though he’s just checking in today. Downside is it’s a couple hours away so pray for my gas tank, wallet and odometer until he doesn’t have to report anymore. 😩

So foster care since 7. At 17, my foster mom said I had to go and there wasn’t someone else willing to take me. 17 is legal age here so I was on my own. At 19, I’d gotten custody of my brothers. At 24, I was responsible for MYSELF, THEM, one of them has TWO kids...

My first foster mom’s name was Tommie. But I called her Granny. And we were both beyond upset when they moved me from her house. I loved it there. Few years ago Granny was awarded a key to the city we lived in for service and they invited me to surprise her.

As a former HS teacher too lemme say that’s not the same as taking a phone or grounding a kid either. And those are necessary behavior modification tools, IMO. But even then baby you’ll just get some clothes and such. Nothing to “play with”.

Update: went to the ER. Apparently my sinuses are like massively infected. I have fluid in my ears and the doctor looked at my throat and said “holy crap. Yeah that’ll do it”. So I was ordered all the meds and to stay home. My coworker came and sat the ER with me.
