I have no idea what you're even talking about. No one is coping about anything. It's always the developer's choice, which features are used & not used. And obviously most old games won't be updated. PSSR (like most other features, really) is optional. Not all PS4 games got PS4 Pro patches. Not all Xbox One games are Series enhanced. And not all PC games receive support after the fact either. It is what it is....

Optimization has gone out the window too... File sizes are out of control, PC performance is often terrible even with good hardware, shader stutters are still a thing.... Console online gaming keeps getting more and more expensive... Physical media is at risk... We're going backwards

@FinalFantasy 99.99% of FF games run perfectly on the Steam Deck. The only two I can think of that don't, are FF16 and Strangers of Paradise.

The S25 Ultra is basically an S25 Plus with an included Pen (worse than last year's btw) and that costs 300$ more. The RTX 5090 is out there with cables that catch on fire, seems like a bigger caveat than some PSSR issues tbh. Although I suppose you're only at risk if you manage to somehow find the card on sale to begin with. Again, not advocating for the PS5 Pro... I don't even own one. But to me it makes perfect sense that it exists. The only real caveat to me is making physical media compatibility an extra cost. Apart from that, it's just another "Pro" product in a world full of companies launching "Pro" products.

I agree. But that's every "Pro" product ever made tbh. Most people don't need a PS5 Pro, most people don't need a Galaxy s25 Ultra, most people don't need an RTX 5090, most people don't need an IPhone 15 Pro Max Omega Balls. It's just another option for those with the spare income and that do want the "best possible".

It's not an excuse, I have no reason to make excuses. I'm simply giving the benefit of the doubt. We'll see 5 years from now how well PSSR matured. I don't believe it'll ever fully rival DLSS simply due to the scale and expertise that Nvidia has on graphics but I do expect it to be quite good and one of Sony's best features.

And regarding PSSR, again, Sony has been and will continue to update it. Give it time. It's almost as if everyone has forgotten how shitty DLSS was on release....

@JezCorden I'll say 8, only because 9 already has the Memoria Patcher and Moguri Mod on PC & 6 has the Pixel Remaster. Meanwhile, 8 is all but forgotten and suffering from the 15 fps menus on the current "Remaster" versions.

Bought it specifically for Final Fantasy XVI and 7 Rebirth, Spiderman 2 was a distant choice too. As a lifelong Final Fantasy fan, I'm not waiting a full year. Plus I want to have the physical editions for my collection... So yeah, as long as they continue to come out on console first, and physically, I will continue buying console hardware.

@TheBlahhhMan @Tuggernut4 @OhNoItsAlexx Exclusives do sell consoles. I've literally bought hardware because of a couple of exclusive games myself. My PS5 was bought specifically for 3 games.
