I swear, most of the problems with fandoms of 18+ games come from under 18s or puritanical young adults feeling they have the right to police said communities.
Go and play Dreamlight Valley if 'adult themes' are so disturbing.
the actors account might have minors following do you people ever put ur brains to think that not all their works is bg3 and not all followers are adults
I can't believe I'm debating with someone in my replies about Solas romance being canon. 🤣
- BioWare has never had canon Dragon Age romances.
- Most Inquisitors are male.
- The Keep default Inquisitor is female Trevelyan.
Oh, and Trespasser is not about the Solas romance 🙄
Random tweet earlier: "who would not say their Inky romanced Solas in their first Veilguard playthrough?!"
Look, I get that people are excited, have waited 84 years etc, but many non-Solasmancers also feel v. attached to their Inky & LIs and are hoping for a crumb of content. 😅
I need to know how old the DA team made Emmrich.
Because if they have him as 'old man Emmrich' and he's really just 49, like Wynne was, I will be having words 😂
Still annoyed that people have the balls to harass devs for this.
Mod The Sims 4? They 'break' once a month.
Skyrim mods were buggered for ages over Christmas after it updated.
It's part of the deal when you arse around with a game.
Just take a break if it's that bad.
We’ll be talking in depth about what our mod support will look like soon. Been working on it since launch. As always, we’ll discuss it in our way with our community. Threats & toxicity against our devs & community teams will only harm the conversation. Please stop that.
As a fan of Cullen and Bull, I think it's fine if you still want to enjoy Davrin's character.
None of us knows what goes on in a stranger's mind (unless they're dense or arrogant enough to put it on social).
And many good people worked on his character & don't share his views.
Being a Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed fan is funny.
I see other AC fans all "it's been a month since our last AC playable content wtf? Release date when?!"
Meanwhile, DA and ME fans...
Just to make things really clear (as sarcasm doesn't seem to translate well to text) I'm pointing out that parts of the British media are continuing to blame her for ridiculous things and / or use Meghan as click-bait. I am not agreeing that she caused Harry's baldness...
Can BioWare just get on and release DA4 so that they can afford to pay the devs they canned their proper severance, please?
They wouldn't be in this position if execs hadn't arsed around with Anthem and whatever the original DA4 concept was.
I know Dragon Age has moved away from this, but I do really like it when a companion in a game expresses interest in the protagonist first.
Sure, sometimes it's messy - depending on their personality - but I like that too. It adds depth.
The idea that some BG3 fans are having a hissy fit about Dragon Age fans playing BG3 is completely ridiculous to me.
Especially when Baldur's Gate was originally a BioWare franchise.
You know what? No.
I've spent years as a BioWare fan having random people post hate about characters that are important to me, I'm not dealing with it in the Baldur's Gate 3 community.
If I see character hate, I'm just going to mute the person.
@allisondraste
Also, to be fair to Gale, he was a Chosen of Mystra not that long ago and is used to having phenomenal magical powers.
He's already been humbled and is losing more and more of his power in Act 1.
I don't think some people realise the change he's going through.
These two helped me realise that you don't need to constantly help/rescue people to be worthy of love.
Cullen and Kaidan don't have 'loyalty missions', you don't need to do anything special to win their affection other than be a decent person.
Yeah...I'm blocking random blue ticks that get off on slamming Dragon Age.
I LOVE BG3, but it being amazing tells us nothing at all about what DA4 will be like.
Also, reminder that blue ticks get paid for shit stirring.
@SongbirdN7
Got to be honest, I was all "I wish I could recruit her without losing Halsin, Karlach and Wyll - and, you know, letting innocent refugees die", but then you revealed her Gale insults. 🤣
One of the reasons Cullen x Inquisitor (Treveylan in my case) is my top tier relationship is that it feels like a proper partnership.
They're really mature and supportive of each other. And they know themselves well enough to be happy in a relationship.
@ellle_em
The girlfriend who organised her boyfriend's white rice into the same container, despite it being different kinds of rice. And argued with him about it.
@imaginmatrix
I'd actually argue that it's hard not to make an attractive female character in BG3.
Starfield is proving more of a struggle for me - it has so many sliders for me to get wrong 😂
Seeing how people are treating Halsin & Raphael's actors (puritanical pearl clutching) and Astarion's actor (boundary crossing in his streams) makes me worried for Dreadwolf's actors.
I seriously wouldn't blame them for staying away from everyday fan engagement.
Well, the 25 years of
@bioware
book arrived. There are small art preview sections for the new ME and DA4 at the end of the book.
Look at this DA4 snippet:
@lulathemoth
I won't spoil how I found this out, but it wasn't here because my Tav didn't find the book or pass a history or religion check in the tomb.
My durge, however, just walked up to the statue and went "that's *spoiler*!".
I think I preferred finding out the way I did though.
@Adwuey
@insectyuri
This is why I don't get k*lling or skipping possible companions. These guys are probably not going to replay the game to get different story elements, so they're gutting their first (& prob only) experience of the game.
Skipping them on replay? Sure, I get that.
I've just found out that it's the year of the Dragon.
If Dragon Age Dreadwolf doesn't launch this year, I'm going to have stern words with EA's marketing department.
@aardvarsk
Annnd this tweet has made me realise that my response to the "what did you achieve this decade" tweet covered the last 20 YEARS.
What is time?!
@E3
Hmmm. No BioWare games. No Skyrim or ESO. No Assassin's Creed. No The Last of Us Part 2 or Uncharted. The only thing I've played on here is The Sims 4.
@BioWareProblems
If I see another news report that BioWare is planning on making DA4 multiplayer only (reports based on two tweets that said nothing like that) I will lose my remaining sanity.
@BioWareProblems
I love that one of the first things the Herald does in DAI is yoink 50 gold out of one pouch on the ground. When I think of all the things Hawke had to do to get that money...
#BaldursGate3
aka Gem tries her first turn-based game in about 30 years 😅
Here's my Tav - she's a half-elf (high-elf) paladin, and she's already had enough of this sh*t 😂
Observations:
- my PC sounds like it's about to take off
- the cutscenes are really engaging
Also, I really don't mean it to be harsh. The fact is, an 18+ game will have gamers and actors engaging in the community who are 18 to over 70.
If you don't want to see what they like or share, block them. Otherwise you'll be constantly upset for no reason. You deserve better.
Me: I'll be playing Starfield at launch time (1am)!!
Narrator: *You reconsider your choice after Baldur's Gate 3 drops update 2 a few hours after your tweet. You log onto your PC, update and launch the game. Starfield will have to wait.*
Just received this lovely sketch of Cullen carrying Trevelyan after they find her post-IYHSB.
Art by the fantastic
@RaenaCreates
, who was a joy to commission from! She even sent me a sketch of my Inquisitor ❤️😍
Thank you for making me smile about Dragon Age again! 😊
...no, we haven't 😅 I've played BG3 multiple times and love it, but that doesn't take away from my love of Dragon Age - people are able to enjoy multiple franchises/games you know.
Also I think Veilguard looks amazing.
So, I think DA fans need to remember that the opinion of one dude with a platform means NOTHING.
What's important is how you rank your favourite. If Solas or Cullen is your no.1 (or anyone else), that means they're the best.
Screw what anyone else thinks.
I just muted someone rather than reply to their crappy take on a situation.
They were talking out of their arse, but what's the point?
Honestly, I feel like there's a section of fandom that's trying its best to ruin people's experience of DA.
@AITA_reddit
She must have known what his relationship was like with his parents before getting hitched and preggers. She's not going to change their dynamic. Accept it or leave.
NTA.
@Gaohmee
I wish there was a way to stop the channel being recommended by YouTube.
Yes, I want to hear about X game; no I don't want to see a thumbnail screaming about wokeness and how game devs are evil.
Note to self: don't click on Dragon Age when it's trending (unless it's because we got news).
Imagine being a dev working hard on DA4 and just seeing a stream of people going, "this game will never be released!!" & "wtf are the devs doing?!"
I want news too, but come on!
When you play an RPG or open-world(/ish) game for the first time, do you immediately fall for all of the ‘urgent’ story points or just go off and explore? EG in DAI I headed straight for Mother G & then explored, but I’ve seen others run off into the hills for hours.
That's Legacy of the First Blade finished.
😭😭😭
No spoilers, except to say that I LOVED the DLC, but I understand why it would be so upsetting to some people.
I do think Kass had no chemistry with *spoiler*, so it felt a bit awkward. But, the lore! 😍
#AssassinsCreedOdyssey
@SongbirdN7
There's a video of what happens when you face Caz with Astarion already dead - you can detect thoughts on him & you discover how much he hates his life and immortality.
It's just one big cycle of abuse and trauma for all of them.
On fandom debates (like Ali King/Warden) you're always going to see them recycled because new people are always joining and giving their opinions.
I think discussion is fine as long as we understand that it's an RPG and all choices are "the right choice" for us.
What are your 3 favourite games of all time?
Mine are (in no particular order):
1. Dragon Age Inquisition
2. Cyberpunk 2077
3. Mass Effect Legendary Edition (it's not cheating!)
Bonus 4. Skyrim (how could I not?!)
(Very hard not to put an AC game as 5 😆)
I have to point something out about King Alistair chatter.
If you play Cousland that romances him & you toughen him up, he wants to be King because he sees it as his right.
You'll have a different experience if you baby him or play a non-human, but it's an outcome you can get.
Sometimes, being a DA fan is like watching Bob Ross videos. Other times it's more like seeing Abbie whack on Joel with a golf club.
Some of us are wondering how to survive the winter. Others are in an actual war zone. This is supposed to be a place we can have fun & escape that.
Imagine having a fun night out with your mates and partner & some rando secretly films you and shares it online.
Related: please stop being weird about your favourite characters' actors. They're real people & some people are a bit obsessive. It's unhealthy.
Christmas had been just me and my mum since my dad died.
This year, my mum died after a sudden illness, so it's just me. I had options, but I feel like I almost need to be by myself for this one.
#JoinIn
I mean, do you guys remember the DAO trailer? 😫
(God forbid anyone criticise the holy grail of BioWare games though, even if it had a God awful cinematic trailer 🙄)
"Dragon Age Veilguard looks awful"
This screenshot is from the DAI trailer. Does this even look like Varric to you? 😭 Remember to always give the gameplay footage a shot first
Every day, the for you tab is flooded with people making detailed hc's about their Inquisitors' role in Veilguard.
Isn't there a risk of hyping yourself up so much that you end up disappointed though? I'm trying to remember that this is Rook's story now.
"Solas and the Inquisitor's story is tied together" isn't a statement made exclusively for those who romanced him.
We all got conned and then maimed by him you know! 😅
Also, have words with the big brain who decided to can the most experienced employees.
It's bloody expensive! This is why it's usually last in, first out.
@Xarallei
Yes! I was just thinking about Dorian.
Maybe the Inquisitor doesn't go to Tevinter at all, so they aren't in the same scene, but to set up the whole 'magical skype crystal' thing and then be all "Dorian and who?" would be super odd.
I'm seeing some people upset/worried that DA4 only has a 3 character squad.
I think franchises can't win sometimes.
Stay exactly the same & they get called stale. Make even a tiny change and fans get upset (look at AC).
I think it could be good - more banter with your LI? 🤞
