Donald Richardson of Jamestown, RI worked on the ferry before the Newport bridge was built. He became one of RITBA's first employees, and at 90 still works part time as a toll collector. Yesterday, he traveled back to Normandy in honor of D-Day

Today marks the retirement of a long term RITBA employee, Louis Conti. Louis began as a toll collector at the Mount Hope Bridge in 1975, and then moved over to the Newport Pell Bridge. He has served the public for 45 years and we wish him the best in his retirement!

RITBA Bridge Update 3/2 at 10:15pm. Due to decreased wind speeds, as of 11:00pm tonight all travel restrictions will be lifted from the Newport, Jamestown, and Mt Hope bridges. @RIStatePolice will still be on site to monitor the bridges and roadways.

Today we were lucky enough to hear the stories from some of the original workers who helped build the Newport Pell Bridge. We thank them and want to remember all of the workers, especially the ones who lost their lives helping to build this iconic structure.
