This has just actually happened:
My wife: “Why do you do that R.E.M. lyrics page?”
Me: “It’s just a simple prop, to occupy my time.”
Absolutely delighted with that. 🤣👍🔥❤️
We’d like to say hello and thank you to all our new followers.
Just like
@remhq
, we are here to share, like and support R.E.M. and each other.
Let’s put our heads together.

8 The poles are shifting
They’re just a group of guys who made music but for millions of people they are so much more.
Their music, their songs, their lyrics, their values and their friendship have touched every corner of the planet.
Thank you Michael, Peter, Bill and Mike
❤️
Happy birthday to R.E.M. drummer and to the all round nice guy of rock, Bill Berry.
And to celebrate, here’s his verse of the Radio Song demo.
“And the DJ sucks!” 🎂🎁❤️👍
In 1992 I lived in a tiny flat and had Automatic For The People on cassette
I’ve just come off a transatlantic flight having listened to the 25 year anniversary version on smart phone with quality headphones
I was astounded at how much it still means to me
Thank you
@remhq
I’m proud that people like you and me repaid these guys for their wonderful music by making them all multi millionaires.
And I’m glad that they still look, dress and act like four regular guys.

You are welcome here if you are a massive fan, an obsessive, a novice or even if you just like Shiny Happy People.
We are all here for each other and we are all the same.
One for all…. ❤️
“Everybody here, comes from somewhere”
In a way, where it all began.
And by the way, when no one is looking and I’m wandering round the kitchen, I am doing my version of Peter from this performance. All the time!
I just set up this account to send out R.E.M. lyrics but it’s been really amazing to meet kind and compassionate fellow fans.
Thanks for being “Shiny Happy People”
🤣🤣🤣
ONLY ON CBS MORNINGS: Meet the five new members of the
@SongwritersHOF
.
R.E.M., Hillary Lindsey,
@Timbaland
, Dean Pitchford and Steely Dan are the new inductees.
When I first fell in love with R.E.M., the first book I read about them “It Crawled From The South”, had a huge impact on me in getting to know who the band were and what they stood for.
I think “Maps And Legends” will have the same impact.
A must!
Tonight I drove home from work with just one song on repeat.
Even after all these years, it still means something different each time.
1991 MTV unplugged.
“…. choosing my confessions….”
If you follow us here on R.E.M. Lyrics, you are DUTY bound to tweet us when you hear an R.E.M. song or R.E.M. lyrics pop into your head.
Ok? 👍
(And we said tweet. Shut it Elon)
MURMUR was released in the US on this day in 1983. In the book Remarks, Peter said: "When the album was finished I remember thinking, 'God, I can't wait until everyone hears this' Because it was so different... it didn't sound like anything else that was coming out."
Today, the deep-dive into AUTOMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE goes deeper! We continue our track-by-track analysis of the album on this week's episode of our R.E.M. podcast! Listen now!

Very often I’ll prompt people to put their phone down and just have a chat.
And they “what do we talk about?”
And I always say “ I dunno, the weather? The Government?”
And most people don’t get the reference 😉
