Dyson Daniels is a good young player who’s 6’8 defends & passes. He doesn’t play because the Pelicans have too many guys. Getting him + 2 1sts would be a acceptable return for DJ.
So we all agree if they trade Murray it needs to be for jones and the one Def pg from Georgia tech from the pelicans? And a 1st pick.

Zaccharie’s floor is so damn high, the question is what his ceiling is gonna be. He’s already a good defender as a rookie, good on the glass, good cutter, good feel, capable shooter, has a nice left hand when he drives to the rim . As is, he’s a very solid player.

This Hawks season is a success in my eyes if:. Trae plays like the guy he was from 2020-2022. Jalen plays at a borderline All Star Level. Risacher plays like a top 4 rookie . Dyson plays like an All NBA Defender . Hawks arent a bottom 10 defense. Win 42+ games & make playoffs.

Trae couldve done more offball but @ the end of the day, the pairing didnt work because DJ was not the defender ATL thought they were getting which was why the move was made in the 1st place. ATL thought DJM was Jrue Holiday 2.0 & hes not close. They misevaluated him as a player.
Glad to hear Trae Young say he got along great with DJ but it just didn't work on the Paul George podcast. WHY NOT? Because Trae would not commit to it. 2 ball dominant guards do not coexist. Trae needed to move without the ball as Nate said he agreed to do. Never happened.

I have nothing but respect for John Collins. He & Trae single handedly made the early rebuild 2018-2020 Hawks fun. When Capela came, he did his best to alter his game to make the team as successful as possible, specifically during the 2021 year.

Personally I think if you wanna continue forward with Trae, the ideal Center next to him is someone who's 7'2 with a 7'7 wingspan & has measurables comparable to Rudy Gobert. Clingan is exactly that. I still believe in Onyeka but having a 6'8 Center next to 6'1 Trae ain't ideal.

Hunter deserves props for adapting to Quin's system/accepting a bench role. Hes eliminated those awful 5 dribble pullup middys. Hes putting up more 3s & hes simplified his decision making which has made him more decisive offensively now. Hes becoming a pretty good 3 level scorer.

Outside of that last 3 he took late, Trae was lights out in the 2nd half/OT, Onyeka & Dyson were incredible on both ends throughout. Hunter made timely shots. This Hawks team got a "never say die" mentality that I haven't seen since the ECF run. Fun to witness.
