Taiya, one of our Year 7 students, won the Young Performer BAFTA this year for her work on JoJo and Gran Gran. (She is the voice of JoJo). We are extremely proud to see a member of the Robert Clack Community using their talents outside of school in such an exciting way!

Our year 10 students have been exemplary this week. It was great to have them back in English lessons, discussing and comparing speeches from Martin Luther King and Obama with such thought and consideration. Next week they will return to Maths lessons too.

On Tuesday 26th April 2022, pupils from Years 7 to 10 attended a large debating competition in London. Overall it was an extremely intense day out filled with lots of public speaking. Robert Clack’s Debate Society came 5th place in the whole of London and our team won 5/6 rounds.

Some of our Y12 were fortune enough to participate in the The Scholars Programme this year. They had to write a univeristy style assignment under the guidance of a PHD tutor. All the pupils achieved excellent results and we are proud of them all.

At the end of last half term, 20 of our Year 9 students made their way up to Monzo Bank, near Liverpool Street station where they were involved in coding web pages using a combination of HTML coding and Java Script. The students also looked at a range of careers in banking.

As a result of the Government's advice yesterday, we have been forced to take the decision to partially close the school. Pupils in Year 9/10 must remain at home for the rest of this week. A letter has been issued to pupils in Year 9/10 and a copy of this is also on the website.

Fantastic news from the art department, Prashap, a student in Year 11 has had his art work chosen by The Royal Academy of Arts for the Online Young artist’s Summer Show 2022.
There were over 21,000 submissions to this exhibition, so this is an excellent achievement.

This year’s national GCSE results are broadly in line with those achieved in 2019. However, at Robert Clack the GCSE outcomes that are better than those achieved in 2022.

During the interfaith week celebrations this week those who won the art competition in Key Stage 3 were invited to a local Gurdwara. Robert Clack School has a large Sikh Community so pupils learnt all about their culture and even had a chance to be involved in the Langar Kitchen!

The annual Robert Clack Student VS Teacher debate took place on Monday. We welcomed back Alumni members to join our teams. A lively and combative debate took place with great questions from the audience.
Overall the fantastic student team won but it was a close call.
