Im glad the de minimis trade loophole will be closed by early next week. Any company that offers you something for $1 and free shipping has to be up to something nefarious. I believe the US customs and border protection @CBP will investigate the shipments valued less $800 now.
I don’t understand why the U.S commerce department still allows Temu and Shein to ship dirt cheap products made by Uyghur forced labor . Would that help lower the cost of living in the U.S? It’s long overdue to fix the trade loophole. No more De Minis Rule!

It seems such a great idea until authoritarian regimes exploit it and forces their victims to work as slave labor. China, for instance, exploiting Uyghurs as slave labor, profiting its genocide to offset its economic losses. TEMU and SHEIN know what I’m talking about.
40% of our prison population is already repaying its debt to society. In return, they receive a shorter sentence and learn a skill. This program is NOT available for rapists and murderers. They will help us build roads, hospitals, and schools; they will manufacture our uniforms and furniture; they will grow and harvest our crops; and they will help clean our rivers.

This young #Uyghur man got arrested by China for learning Quran. My sister Renagul Gheni sentenced 17 yrs in Chinese prison for having the Quran and praying at our father’s funeral. I’m baffled by the silence of Muslim world against China’s persecution of Uyghur Muslims.
Uyghurs identified from Xinjiang Police files, 2.Mehmut Nasir, he is a student at Hotan Uyghur Medicine College, arrested 2011, 2013 for learning Quran, arrested again 2018 and heavily sentenced.

His name is Abdu(Not a full name), he’s a Uyghur father living inner part of China. It’s heartbreaking to see anyone, especially a child like that situation, but I think he’s doing all he can to provide for his family.

When I first heard about my sister’s arbitrary detention by China in 2018, I felt scared, frightened and helpless. I cried myself out thinking about her two kids. I started to speak up. It’s 2025 and I’m still calling for accountability. For them, we must stand strong.

I’ve been advocating for my sister’s freedom way earlier than Mr.@JoeBiden’s presidency and his term ended today. The past years have been a blur and it’s hard to believe how much time has passed. I hope the new admin will help her and others to reunite with our loved ones.

China’s denial of Uyghur genocide is like soap opera. First utterly denied mass detention, then said they were reeducation camps, then changed to vocational schools. But our loved ones remained persecuted one way or another. Where’s my sister, a mother of two, then?
