#ElectionTwitter I've created a new metric called the County Power Index, or CPI, which measures the percentage of a state's total votes that each county casts. @kilometerbryman and @lxeagle17 have helped me to make this map of CPI for every state in the country.

@LauraRBelin Clinton actually did notably worse than Dukakis in Iowa! My guess is that a lot of farmers were Dukakis-to-Perot voters in 1992, so that hurt Clinton margin-wise in the state

#ElectionTwitter Here's a map of the 1940 presidential election in Idaho by congressional district. FDR won both of the state's districts, including ID-02 which was held by a Republican congressman.

@lxeagle17 What's ironic is that according to the book "Game Change" by Heilemann and Halperin, Hillary Clinton campaigned hard to get that D+36 margin so that she would seem to be a formidable contender in 2008
